I’ll be voting for Deets on Election Day | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I’m writing in support of Joe Deets, candidate for Bainbridge Island City Council.

In addition to his expertise in financial management and progressive politics, I’m especially appreciative of his focus on negotiating a relationship with Puget Sound Energy that is sound, both economically and environmentally.

I was a member of the city’s task force advising on the initiative to create a municipal electrical utility, and have a long career as both a member of the work force providing electrical service to communities around Puget Sound, and as a representative of electric utility employees across the Northwest. In addition our household has invested in the solar array on the city hall roof and support local community efforts to reduce our carbon footprint. What I recognize in Joe is someone who will address issues of reliability, carbon emissions, and other concerns with PSE creatively and realistically.

I’ll be voting for Joe Deets on Nov. 7.
