I put my trust in Pollock for council | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Bainbridge Island has certainly grown since I moved here when I was 8 years old. Not sure what the issues were back when I was a kid, but I’ve been paying attention since my early twenties and many of them have been about growth.

I miss the bowling alley, but then the movies theater arrived. Very few endorsed the roundabout, but I think it was the best traffic decision this island made.

Thing is, I can’t personally monitor all the decisions that have to be made to keep Bainbridge running smoothly, so I need to put my trust in a councilperson who will vote to allow growth within the parameters created through a thoughtful planning process. I believe Michael Pollock will do so.

Michael has made a commitment to protect the health and beauty of our island through adhering to the comprehensive plan. He has the grit to stand up to special interests. His vision embraces climate-friendly solutions to growth-related problems such as road congestion and affordable housing. The Bainbridge Island City Council would be better able to address the pressures of an increasing population with Michael on board.
