To the editor:

I endorse Kirsten Hytopoulos for Bainbridge Island City Council for a number of reasons.

She’s a working mom who has been a Bainbridge resident for 17 years. She knows the island — its charm and its quirks. Also, as a former mayor and councilwoman, Kirsten has been on both sides of the dais at city hall. She’ll listen to people who come to comment at meetings, maybe more so than people who have not been active in local politics. She’s an environmentalist and takes our finite resources into consideration as well as zoning issues and enforcement issues when discussing sustainable development.

And, I’ve seen her look at two opposing viewpoints and find commonalities, which will be vital going forward.
