Hulet is committed to listening and learning | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Christina Hulet is an asset to the Bainbridge Island School Board and I strongly support her election to a full term.

Christina is passionate about delivering the best possible education experience for all our children. She’s down-to-earth and easy to talk to but also delivers under pressure with poise and confidence. Her commitment to public service and deeply held values of equity and inclusion combine to provide us with a school board member that always considers the needs of every child regardless of income, religion, race, or gender.

I’ve known Christina for more than a decade and am continually struck by her authentic commitment to listening and learning from diverse groups and then finding areas of agreement and building consensus. Her commitment to hearing from the community is regularly demonstrated at her “Coffee with Christina” gatherings at various spots around the island. My high school-age daughter and I stopped by one a few weeks ago and I can tell you it makes quite an impression on our students when their school board members are as interested in what they have to say as Christina is.

I hope you’ll join me in voting for Christina and ensuring that our school board is listening to all of us.
