To the editor:
Great news that voters are turning out in higher than expected numbers. (“Higher turnout expected in Kitsap County for this midterm election” by Brian Kelly, Bainbridge Island Review, Nov. 2, 2018).
But the election is only the beginning. In order to change things for the better, like ending hunger in our country, we need to use our voices to guide those we elect.
Calls, letters, and visits to our representatives help them stay focus on the positive initiatives that make sure all Americans have enough to eat, a roof over their heads, a good education, and a job that pays the bills, regardless of their zip code.
