Candidate thanks voters for support | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me in the race to fill Position 3 of the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District. While I was not successful, I garnered 46 percent of the vote;

I’ll try again because I have a passion for giving back to this community that I love so much.

I particularly want to thank so many in the island’s community of seniors, and also my friends and family. Also, thanks to my many associates whom I worked with so closely during my years in journalism. I wish to thank people in my longtime neighborhood of Meadowmeer, who gave me so much support and encouragement. And also the island’s church community, particular Bethany Lutheran Church. And finally, thanks to my beloved community of early morning lap swimmers.

I am sorry I let you down; I did my best for a novice campaigner. I learned a lot, and I’ll try again.
