Bainbridge Performing Arts has announced youth auditions for Disney & Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins,” slated for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at BPA.

Interested parties are requested to email BPA’s production/stage manager Deirdre Hadlock at dhadlock@bainbridgeperformingarts.org  to schedule their audition appointment.

The much-loved supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical adventure is directed by Ken Michels, with music direction by Josh Anderson, choreography by Heather Dawson and youth chorus direction by Zandi Carlson.

Run dates are Dec. 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20, with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview Dec. 3 and an Industry Night on Dec. 14. Rehearsals are Sept. 26 through Dec. 3, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. plus Saturdays sessions as well (time to be announced).

Available roles include a youth chorus and “Michael” and “Jane Banks.”

Michael is the cute and cheeky 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Banks. Excitable and naughty, he adores his father and tries to be like him.

Jane Banks — the high-spirited 11-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Banks — is bright and precocious, but can be willful and inclined to snobbishness. The youth chorus will be a group of 8 to 14 ensemble members led by BPA education director Zandi Carlson. Members will be involved as part of the ensemble and will be featured in “Playing the Game,” “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and much more.

Adult roles are additionally open, and any interested parents are encouraged to sign up to audition as well.

Audition requirements include preparation of a one-minute monologue and 16 to 32 bars of a musical theatre or a Disney piece.

An accompanist will be provided, and those auditioning are instructed to bring sheet music — clearly marked and in a three-ring binder. No outside accompanist or acapella singing is permitted. All roles are open to audition, including slots for adults.
