Goats help with Blakely Park cleanup

Goats visited Blakely Harbor Park recently, clearing invasive blackberry, ivy and more.

West Sound Wildlife Shelter of Bainbridge Island recently released three adult and four juvenile bald eagles in the Castlerock/Silver Lake area. The eagles were originally located by state Department of Fish and Wildlife at a landfill. The eagles were exhibiting signs of barbiturate poisoning. Raindancer Wild Bird Rescue initiated the supportive care and then transferred them to West Sound Wildlife Shelter. Lisa Horn, executive director of the West Sound Wildlife Shelter, said, “After working hard to save the lives of the eagles, we are very excited to provide them with a healthy second chance at life.” For details, email Lisah@westsoundwildlife.org.
