Chris Bambridge, a tunnel engineer for the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program, will be the next speaker in the Bainbridge Island Kiwanis Club’s “Speaker Series.”

Bambridge, who lives on Bainbridge Island, started his career in the gold mines of South Africa before moving to the United Kingdom to work on the Channel Tunnel Project that links the United Kingdom to France. Before moving to the island, he was based in London working on the refurbishment of road tunnels under the Thames River.

His presentation will be

7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 at the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center. The center is at 370 Brien Drive SE, behind Town & Country Market.

Natalie Graves, a member of the project’s Communications and Public Involvement staff, will also be on hand to answer questions from community members.

A very short business meeting will be held prior to the talk, with heavy hors d’oeuvre being available for purchase.
