April 3, 2013. Remember that date. It marked the introduction of the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center Class Acts program, a new way of informing current and future senior center members of the many activities and classes available to them.
The crocuses are up, and the daffodils too. Spring is on its way. After all, it is March, so the days should warm and the sap start flowing. It makes us all want to be up and doing as well, doesn’t it?
Farewell January, hello February. Another year is speeding by.
Happy New Year, one and all. It’s time to rest up from the holiday season and get ready to celebrate again — this time at the official re-opening of the newly re-named Waterfront Park Community Center building which includes our Bainbridge Island Senior Center.

Members of the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center voiced their farewells and happy retirement wishes to long time director Jane Allan during a gala send-off at Saint Barnabas Parish Hall on Sept. 26, with representatives from the city of Bainbridge Island and the Metro Parks & Recreation District adding their thanks for her service to those of our members.
Are you ready to party? Jane Allan officially ends her long and dedicated service to the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center this month and the center is planning a royal send-off.
The Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center may still be under construction and programs scattered everywhere, farmed out to temporary locations like Saint Barnabas Parish Hall, Virginia Villa or Bainbridge Performing Arts, but that hasn’t slowed the ability of members to come up with new ideas for still more activities.
I wandered down Brien Avenue recently to bring you this mid-July update on the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center.
