SWERV gets a look at vision loss

Savvy Women Exchange Relevant Views will gather for the program, “Keeping a Savvy Eye on Vision Thieves,” at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Filipino American Hall.

All women are invited to attend SWERV to hear retired local ophthalmologist Franklin Chu highlight the warning signals and treatment options for cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Chu, a graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a former commissioned officer and surgeon with the U.S. Public Health Service, had a local private practice for 24 years before retiring. He will answer general questions, but specific cases will be discussed in private.
