The National Weather Service is predicting wind gusts topping 40 mph for Bainbridge Island Monday night.

NWS is calling for rain and a southwest wind between 30 and 40 mph overnight. Wind and rain are expected to taper off throughout the week, beginning Tuesday.

Only minor damage was reported on the island from the wet and gusty weekend.

On Saturday, a park district float holding Laser sailboats broke loose from its mooring off Waterfront Park and drifted ashore, according to Harbormaster Tami Allen. The float was secured by a park district employee.

Bainbridge Police Lt. Sue Shultz said the department received about 20 wind-related calls, mostly reporting branches on power lines.

A Puget Sound Energy spokesperson said scattered power outages were reported throughout Kitsap County over the weekend, including on Bainbridge.
