Germaine Lambert Bauer, of Port Orchard, died peacefully on Aug. 6 at the Hospice of Kitsap County Care Center. She was 83.

She was born on April 5, 1926 in Manchester, N.H. to Philippe and Adele Lambert, and received her education at St. Marie’s Catholic School in Manchester.

She came to Washington State when she married John M. Bauer on July 7, 1951, and spent the following years in Port Orchard. She was co-founder of the Chief Kitsap Chapter of Sweet Adeline and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2338.

She is survived by her husband John Bauer; two children, Denise Craswell (Jim) of Poulsbo and Kurt Bauer of Port Orchard; eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Rebecca, Hannah, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Laura Craswell; and Michael and Mathew Bauer.

She was a long-time member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, where her services will be held this on Aug. 15, with a rosary at 9:30 a.m. and mass at 10 a.m. St. Gabriel is at 1150 Mitchell Ave., in Port Orchard.
