Loyal Emmet Edgren, age 79
Loyal Emmet Edgren died Oct. 10 from cancer.
Loyal was born on April 15, 1931, in Glendale, Calif. to Emil and Sena (Myreboe) Edgren. He moved to Poulsbo in 1938, and graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1949 and later Western Washington College with a degree in education.
Loyal married Patricia (Acheson) on Sept. 20, 1952, just before he left for service in the Army. He was a schoolteacher for eight years before he began his career in insurance. He and Pat owned and operated Edgren Insurance Agency for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia; children Christine (Howard) Kreps and Brian (Cathy) Edgren; and three grandchildren Aaron Kreps, Kelsey Edgren, and Eric Edgren.
