Harold Humphreys

Harold Humphreys, 89, of Bainbridge Island, died Jan. 15 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
He was born on April 27, 1916 in St. Louis, Mo., to Walter Humphreys and Edith Luella Holdaway.
He worked for 37 years as a bus driver for the Los Angeles County Rapid Transit System. He served on the district’s retirees association for many years following his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and Yahtzee, stamp and coin collecting and traveling.
A resident of Bainbridge Island for the past 15 years, he was active in the Senior Center.
He was preceded in death by his wives: Leota Mae in 2003 and Willeta Humphreys in 2005.
He is survived by his children Patricia Humphreys Webb of Seattle, William Humphreys of Del High, Iowa, Robert Humphreys of Volcano, Calif., and Larry Burris of Bainbridge Island; brother Willis Humphreys of Fullerton, Calif; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Jan. 18, with interment at Hillcrest Cemetery on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements were by Kass & Cook Family Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
