Robert Verfurth

Former Poulsbo resident Robert Verfurth died Sept. 15. He was 82.
He was born Sept. 23, 1923 in Lindsay, Calif., and lived most of his life in Fresno, Calif.
In 1995, he and his wife moved to the Puget Sound area, and they lived in Poulsbo for nine years.
He owned his own business and was active in education, music and liturgy in his parish in Fresno. He was a licensed cosmetologist, and a member of the Serra Club in Fresno and the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline of Seattle; his daughter Mary (Tim) Carl of San Jose, Calif.; son Donald Verfurth of Seattle; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; a sister and brother, and their spouses.
Funeral mass was celebrated Sept. 20 at St. James Cathedral, Seattle, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Seattle. Remembrances may be made to the Music and Liturgy Program at St. James Cathedral, 801 9th Ave., Seattle, WA 98104.
