The latest reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.
Friday, March 30
11:44 a.m. A property manager reported that fuel was stolen from a boat moored near Hidden Cove Road.
The manager had checked on the boats the previous day, but when he arrived the next morning, he noticed that one of the boats had been entered and there was a smell of diesel fuel.
Saturday, March 31
1:35 a.m. Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Weaver Road. The driver told police that he was 22 and was merely driving as someone his age would. Police then noticed the smell of alcohol.
When asked to take sobriety test, the driver refused to take the field sobriety test, and opted to use the portable breath test. The breath test registered a .185 blood alcohol level result. The driver was placed under arrest for DUI.
6:17 p.m. Police responded to a call reporting that a group of juveniles had entered a mobile home on Madrona Way.
The group was then seen running up Madison and into the Pavilion, but police were unable to locate them.
The mobile home had been damaged with holes kicked in the walls.
Sunday, April 1
6:21 p.m. Residents living on Smoland Lane reported an attempted break-in.
Someone tried to force open the French doors on the house to gain entry over the afternoon while the residents were away. They were unsuccessful, and the doors were damaged. The damage was estimated at $100.
