3D ‘Nemo’ comes to Bainbridge Cinemas

Following on the heels of a conversion to all digital projectors at Bainbridge Cinemas, the theater is set to introduce 3D for the first time with the re-release of the Disney classic “Finding Nemo” on Friday, Sept. 21.
Owners of the five-screen movie house said the digital projectors use the “Real D” process, which use glasses that look like sunglasses, are recyclable and designed to fit all moviegoers, including those who wear prescription glasses.
Jeff Brein, Bainbridge Cinemas co-owner, said the theater will present 3D films on a selective basis.
“There are some films that are shot with this process and are stunning to watch,” Brein said. “We anticipate offering both 2D and 3D versions of select movies allowing for a choice in format for our audiences.”
“We are thrilled to offer this new format to our audiences and look forward to a slate of excellent 3D releases between now and the end of the year,” he added. “If you haven’t seen a film in digital 3D, this weekend offers a great opportunity to enjoy a classic all-ages movie in a way you’ve never seen before.”
“Finding Nemo” will show daily at 1:05, 3:30, 6:35 and 8:40 p.m. through Sept. 27.
Though 3D presentations will eventually include a surcharge to cover the extra cost of equipment, license fees and recyclable glasses, the theater will not include a surcharge on opening weekend Sept. 21-23, and regular admission prices will apply.
Beginning on Monday, Sept. 24, 3D tickets will cost $1.50 extra through at least the end of the year, Brein said.
