The “Living Out Loud” film series continues this week at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
Island Volunteer Caregivers and Bainbridge Senior Living have curated a selection of award-winning documentary films that raise awareness about active aging while combating negative stereotypes.
Playing at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 13, “Young@Heart” follows a chorus of seniors who refuse to go quietly into the night, proving you’re never too old to rock’n’roll.
They travel the globe while covering pieces by Jimi Hendrix, Coldplay and Sonic Youth and delivering a whole lot of sass.
In “Alive Inside,” which plays at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, a social worker takes on a broken healthcare system and demonstrates music’s ability to combat memory loss.
The screenings are free and include refreshments. To arrange a ride, contact Island Volunteer Caregivers at 206-842-4441.
BIMA is located at 550 Winslow Way East. Call 206-842-4451 or visit www.biartmuseum.org for more information about this and other upcoming events.
