Tuesday, Dec. 3
1:24 p.m. Police responded to a report of a missing farm sign. The owner of Evergreen Farms told police someone had taken the sign sometime between 10 a.m. and noon.
The sign was described as a very large, circular wooden sign. It was also a piece of art and heavy enough to require two people to install it. The owner informed police that the screws remained on the sign posts, still partially screwed in, but not damaged or bent.
Sunday, Dec. 8
11:02 a.m. An island homeowner said a former renter stole two cords of chopped wood. The homeowner told police he recently had to ask the renter to leave. Between the time he asked her to move out and the day she left, he believes that she cut up wood that was laying on the property.
When police contacted the woman, she said she did not take any wood. She owns a very small car and would have no way of transporting the wood. She also said the homeowner would constantly harass her about what she did on the property and would often times show up without notice.
The homeowner showed police a spot in the woods where it appeared logs had been lying, and a woodstove empty of ash.
Monday, Dec. 9
12:41 p.m. Police were dispatched on a report that a young man was yelling and breaking items inside an island home. The man’s mother told police that she had returned home after being away for a few days and noticed her son was acting strange. She was concerned he had been flushing his anti-depression and mood-stabilizing medications down the toilet.
The following day she asked him to sign a medical release form for his mental health counselor and he became explosive. He began yelling at her and threw a ceramic owl figurine on the kitchen floor, leaving a 4-inch hole and pieces all over the room.
The son told police he had already taken his medication and he was frustrated because he did not want to take it again.
