Bainbridge Island Dive Club divers place in BC Provincials

VANCOUVER, BC – Members of the Bainbridge Island Dive Club had multiple top 10 finishes in an international diving meet last week in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The British Columbia Winter Provincial Championships allowed the team’s members from Bainbridge, Kingston and Poulsbo to compete on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards with some of the best age group divers Canada has to offer.
In the Girls 11/12-year-old Division, Bryn Tiernan of Bainbridge Island placed ninth on the 1-meter with a score of 94.7 and eighth on the 3-meter board with a score of 90.8.
Jackie Helmers (Poulsbo) earned a blue ribbon on the 1-meter board with a score of 187.55 and had a second-place finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 214.30 for the Girls 14/15-year-old Division. Cammie Rouser of Kingston competed in the Girls 16-18-year-old Division and placed first on the 1-meter with a score of 305.45 and came in second on the 3-meter springboard at 311.
In the Boys 12/13-year-old division, Henry Sauermann of Bainbridge Island took home two first-place Blue Ribbons.
On the 1-meter he scored 184.05 and on the 3-meter board he scored 221.25.
Duncan Platz (Poulsbo) placed first on the 1-meter with a score of 220.25 and was third on the 3-meter board with a score of 141.8 in the Boys 14/15-year-old Division.
The newest member of the team, Noel Issa (Kingston), competed in the Boys 16-18-year-old Division and placed second on both the 1-meter and the 3-meter springboards with scores of 219 and 182.85 respectively.
He also earned the “Coaches Award” for his fine first-time performance.
