William Albert Pelandini

William Albert Pelandini, age 79, of Bainbridge Island, Washington, passed away on July 18, 2026 at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Silverdale after a sudden illness.

Bill was born on December 19, 1946 to Francis “Took” Pelandini and Clara Grace “Betty” Tucker in Vallejo, California. He spent his early months of life in Vallejo before the family moved to Hawaii for the next few years. The Pelandinis finally settled in Bremerton, Washington where Bill attended the local schools and met his high school sweetheart, Patricia Echo Wood, whom he would marry in 1968. Bill attended Central Washington University and moved to Seattle to teach high school. In the late 1970s, he decided on a career change that led him to the University of Puget Sound Law School and a job at the Washington State Legislature as an aide. After graduating from law school in 1981, Bill embarked on what would end up being a 30-year career in law.

Bill and Patty and their three children finally settled for good on Bainbridge Island in 1983. Bill was involved in the local community, directing the choir at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church for several years and establishing the Bainbridge Men’s Compline Choir in the mid-1990s. He had a passion for music, something he inherited from his mother and passed on to all three of his children. From his father, he inherited a passion for Italian cooking, becoming well known for his dinner parties which featured many family recipes.

Bill was known for his humor, generosity, and passion for good living. Among their many travels, he and Patty took frequent trips to California wine country and maintained a life-long love for the area. Bill was beloved by everyone who was lucky enough to know him, and his passing has left a large hole in his tight-knit family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty, who passed away in 2025, and is survived by his three children: Matthew (Rebecca), Sarah (Zeke), and Adam; his grandson, Benjamin; sisters-in-law, Mary Champine and Susie Wood; and seven nieces.
