Joyce Annette Milliren, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 20, 2026 at home on Bainbridge Island following a short illness.
She was born December 5th, 1940 in Seattle, Washington to Otto and Iola (Brigfield) Helstrom. A life-long Bainbridge Island resident, she graduated fifth in her class from Bainbridge High School in 1959. Joyce then went to work as a receptionist for Puget Sound Power and Light on the Island until her retirement to be a homemaker in 1975. She enjoyed helping the community through her job by answering calls to schedule donation pickups for the Rotary Auction. Joyce also volunteered with the local Children’s Orthopedic Auxiliary.
Joyce loved her family deeply and leaves behind her two children, Jason (Susan) of Tacoma, WA, and Peter of Bainbridge Island. She was also a loving and proud grandmother to Tyler (21) and Carter (18).
