Diane Margaret Crowder (Pittman) was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. On February 21, 2025, surrounded by her three girls, she left this life to rejoin in heaven, her high school sweetheart and husband of 45 years Martin T. Crowder.
Diane was 83 years of age. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Finnila (Jim), brother Michael Pittman (Pam), her three daughters – Christina (Todd), Lisa and Amy (Todd) and her grandchildren Christopher, Dana, Annika, Peyton, Jake, Sydney and Sloane.
Diane was passionate about her family, friends, faith and community. She grew up in West Seattle, and moved first to Poulsbo, and then to Bainbridge Island, where she spent 45 years making life-long friends and a positive impact on the community. She was an active member of both the Seattle Yacht Club and Poulsbo Yacht Club, where she met and made lasting friends.
Diane was known as a life-long learner and avid volunteer. She treasured her time volunteering, — often serving in leadership positions at organizations such as Children’s Hospital, West Sound Wildlife Shelter, Hospice of Kitsap County, The Bainbridge Island Kid’s Discovery Museum, and Eagle Harbor Church. Her thousands of hours of service touched and improved the lives of countless individuals.
She was a swim parent, a basketball mom, a fierce advocate for public schools and a loyal Seahawks fan.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Callahan House for their loving and dedicated care of Diane. The family is also grateful for the support and care she received from Providence Hospice of Seattle.
