Fishing Derby Saturday near Poulsbo Middle School

The Poulsbo Noon Lions Club will be hosting a “Hooked on Fish Derby” for children 11 and under Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the horticulture pond behind Poulsbo Middle School.

The event is free and bait is provided. Fishing poles and gear are available on a first-come basis. Those with their own poles are encouraged to bring them. The pond has been stocked with about 400 rainbow trout, some are up to four pounds. Parents are encouraged to help, but not fish. Complimentary fish cleaning available.

“This is a fun-filled family activity that can help children develop a lifelong passion for fishing,” a news release states.
