Prep football teams kick off season with jamboree

North Kitsap's Jaxson Gore scored multiple touchdowns in the Vikings air raid offense.
Kingston's defense shined with two interceptions to secure a win and tie at the jamboree.

Bainbridge, Kingston and North Kitsap kicked off the 2022 season with a jamboree held at North Kitsap Stadium.

The Spartans faced North Mason in their first game, defeating them 21-0. Afterward, the Spartans faced Kingston and tied 14-14. The Spartans had a chance to beat the Buccaneers on the final play before turning the ball over.

Bainbridge quarterback Jack Grant and running back Micah Bryant highlighted the Spartans’ offense.

Kingston defeated Olympic High 14-0 before splitting with Bainbridge. The Buccaneers looked like a highly improved team from last season by creating turnovers and sparking big plays.

North Kitsap proved it’s still the team to beat, winning 21-14 over Sequim and 28-7 over Shelton. The Vikings receivers Jaxson Gore and Alex Hitchings shined with two receiving touchdowns each.
