Students in fifth-through-eighth grade at St. Cecilia Catholic School on Bainbridge Island were recently recognized for developing the Change for Ukraine campaign that inspired them and school families to collect change to aid Ukraine in its war efforts against Russia.

The effort raised $2,910, which was donated to Empact Northwest and earmarked for Ukraine humanitarian relief.

Also, graduates were recognized and some awards were given out. The event culminated with a concert given by pre-K classes through 8th-grade students. It was their first spring concert in three years.

Empact Northwest CEO Jake Gillander was presented with a giant check before the concert.
