Morning crash on Highway 305 clogs traffic

A two-vehicle injury collision on Highway 305 at West Port Madison Monday morning has left traffic jammed on the north end Bainbridge Island.

The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. Sept. 24.

Details were initially sparse, but it appeared a southbound driver in a van rear-ended another southbound driver in a Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Multiple units of the Bainbridge Island Fire Department were on the scene, and the driver of the truck was placed on a stretcher and taken to a waiting medic unit.

The southbound lane of Highway 305 was blocked to traffic by multiple fire trucks and other emergency responders.

Bainbridge police were directing traffic through the crash site, and long lines of vehicles were stacking up on both sides of West Port Madison.
