Bainbridge falls to Crusaders’ bats

SEATTLE – The first of two slated baseball games Friday, April 20 was cancelled due to a lack of umps, and thus the Bainbridge High varsity baseball team hit the field for the first and only game of the day against Eastside Catholic.
Unfortunate, as they were the better ranked of the Spartans’ two proposed opponents that day and, turns out, they might have needed the warm up against Rainier Beach (0-13) before facing off against Eastside Catholic (11-5).
Ultimately, the Spartans were bested by the Crusaders 3-0.
It left the island squad with an overall record of 7-7 as they prepared for the final home game of the regular season Monday, April 23, against Chief Sealth (6-14).
