Muhuru Bay is nestled next to Lake Victoria in southwestern Kenya near the border with Tanzania. It is a remote area where economic opportunity is limited and access to education almost nonexistent. At the next Tuesdays at the Traveler at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, presenters Karen Klein and Carrie Arndt will share their experiences as volunteers with WISER, an organization that focuses on the empowerment of girls through education and health.

WISER opened a school in Muhuru Bay in 2010 and today the lives of more than 200 girls have been transformed.

“Footprints on The Moon: Transforming The Lives of Girls in Kenya” is part of Tuesdays at The Traveler, a series featuring adventures from all over the world.
