Bainbridge Quilt Festival announces raffle winners

The recent Bainbridge Quilt Festival saw two lucky raffle winners take home comfy hand-made prizes.

“We had such a fun quilt festival,” said Kathy Dwyer of the Bainbridge Island Modern Quilt Guild. “[The] best part is the raffle winners.”

First choice of winning quilt went to Jane Cummings, an island visitor from Lenore, North Carolina, Dwyer said.

The second prize was nabbed by a confident 7-year-old, Aiden Hecker, who got word of his winnings at his birthday party.

“Best of all is that it was all his idea [to enter],” Dwyer said. “He was thrilled. He told his folks all day he was going to win.

“Go figure,” she said. “A 7-year-old, tree-climbing kiddo.”
