BHS beat R’Riders in Metro first round

SEATTLE – The Spartans broke open a 3-0 lead over Roosevelt in the first round of the Metro League softball tournament with a seven-run third inning to easily outgun the Rough Riders 12-0 Monday at Southwest Athletic Complex.

Emma Lindsay led the big bat attack for the Spartans in the 11-hit wonder. She had 3-for-4 batting with four RBIs.

Maddie Loverich was similarly spectacular. She went 3-for-3 at the plate, with a triple and one RBI.

Fellow Spartans Natalya Niehaus and Riley Gregoire didn’t disappoint, as well.

Niehaus was a perfect 3-for-3 and had two RBIs, and Gregoire also impressed on 2-for-2 batting with two RBIs.
