BIFC U14 boys team claims state cup

TUKWILA – The Bainbridge Island Football Club U14 boys team won the state cup last weekend, and defeated the Rainier Valley Slammers in the final game of the playoffs at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila, Washington.

The team was recognized during the half time break at the Bainbridge High School varsity boys team game at home Monday night.

The future of soccer is bright on Bainbridge.

One member of the team, Andy Becker, currently plays on the BHS JV team and the rest of the squad except one will be entering high school in the fall, said Spartan Head Coach Ian McCallum.

The team consists of Cole Barjesteh, Samuel Barnett, Andrew Becker, Addison Berg, Daniel DeBellis, Julian Florez, Jack-Henry Hung, Max Johnson, Sean Lindsey, David Nikunen, Willem Patrick, Carlo Ruggiero, Dustin Scott, Scott Skalak, Jack Stearns, Andrew von Bereghy and Grant Wolff.
