Spartans host Logan Relays

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge Spartans hosted the Logan Relays and dominated in the javelin.

The visiting runners from North Kitsap, however, had a field day in the boys and girls relay and mile events during the March 14 invitational.

In the varsity finals for the javelin, John Carroll came in first for Bainbridge with a terrific toss of 79-5.

Fellow Spartan Joel Lafer was second with a throw of 76-11, and Will Hobbs was third, 63-8.

The Spartan girls also won the javelin event.

Makaila Deen was first for Bainbridge with a throw of 67-7. BHS’s Vega Piper was second with a distance of 53.

The Spartans open the regular season against Roosevelt and West Seattle on Thursday, March 26.
