Youth Summit’s call to action | IN OUR OPINION

It’s time to step up for Island youth.
The third, and perhaps most important, meeting for the Bainbridge Healthy Youth Summit is coming Saturday.
Organizers of the summit will hold their Phase 3 meeting, where people will be invited to work on the ideas for community-generated projects that were prompted by the two earlier sessions. Community members — parents, Bainbridge youth, educators, local leaders and everyone concerned about the well-being of youth — will choose projects that spark their passion, provide input and/or take leadership roles, network, form partnerships, and become involved in new and collaborative ways to support youth on the island.
This is the can’t-miss finale to the summits, and if you missed the first two sessions, you’re still very welcome to join now in this important endeavor.
The summit will be led by Doug Nathan, a professional facilitator, with the help of Carolyn Milander, a 2012 graduate of Bainbridge High. Clay Roberts, the founder and president of Roberts and Associates of Bainbridge Island, will offer an interactive presentation: “Take a Moment, Make a Difference.”
The Youth Summit is 9 a.m. Saturday, March 15 in the BHS Commons.
