“Imagination is a great big door. What motivates me every day to pass through that door is the adventure and joy of discovery,” Peterson said.
The artist will be showcasing her one-of-a-kind Garden Fairies at the Grange Hall during the tour.
“Standing only 5 inches tall, my tiny creations are all hand-sculpted and dressed in luxurious vintage fabrics and trims. My fairy faces are sculpted after the likeness of someone I love,” she said.
“Once I finish a fairy, it’s the fairy’s job to bring joy and happiness to those who see her, and maybe even make them laugh — and I am on to the next adventure.”
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Winter Studio Tour. The free, self-guided tour is Dec. 6, 7 and 8, and artists will be on hand to showcase their work in nine local artists’ studios and community halls.
The studios are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. all three days, with live music provided by regional musicians and carolers. Each studio will be festively adorned for the holiday season, and full of hand-crafted artwork. There will also be a free raffle for a basket of art at each studio.

Brochures can be downloaded from the website, or found at the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce and regional stores.
