Staff members and participants from the Bainbridge Island Special Needs Foundation, also known as “Stephens House,” pose with Bainbridge Island Firefighters Garrett Kimzey (far left) and Peter Gibson (far right) after they teamed up to wash one of the fire trucks in the parking lot of the Eagle Harbor Congregational Church Wednesday, Sept. 11.
“They do so much for our community,” said Stephens House staff member Bryana Deits of the fire department.
“And, being 9-11, I thought this was a way for our participants to give back.”
Firefighter/Inspector Garrett Kimzey agreed, saying it was a great way for the fire department to stay in involved with the community it serves. “It’s nice to be here,” he said. “They called us, and we’re glad to help. I wish we could do it more often.”
