BACK TO SCHOOL | Ordway Elementary update: Meet and Greet is Tuesday

School starts on Bainbridge Island on Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Ordway Elementary School will hold its Meet and Greet from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28.
Parents can meet their child’s teacher and check out the classroom.
Parents can also start or replenish student lunch accounts. Otter wear will also be for sale, and the Outdoor Education Program will be offering Chinook Books for $20 each. The Chinook Books contain more than 400 coupons for organic food and dining, gardening, travel, recreation and local arts and culture activities. Half of the sale proceeds go directly to Ordway’s fourth-grade Outdoor Education Program.
Kindergarten Parent Night at Ordway is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 in the gym.
Parent Night for the first and second grade starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Parent Night for the third and fourth grade is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11.
School starts at 7:50 a.m. and lets out at 2:15 p.m.
Starting Sept. 10, Ordway students will be released at 12:50 p.m. each Monday for teacher training.
In other Ordway events, the Back to School Tea is planned for Thursday, Aug. 30 in the school library. Parents are welcome to come get to know the school, the Ordway Parent-Teacher Organization, and talk with other parents.
The Ordway PTO still has important committee chair positions to fill. Volunteers are needed for the Emergency Preparedness, Gardening, Recycling/Composting, Bike to School Day and Field Day committees.
