The city of Bainbridge Island is currently seeking volunteers for its Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
The committee is charged with the distribution of the Civic Improvement Fund, which is supported through lodging taxes. The taxes are used to promote tourism on the island, and committee members review proposals from community organizations that are seeking funding.
The advisory group consists of two non-voting, at-large members; two members representing the island’s business community who collect lodging taxes; and two members from businesses or agencies that are able to receive funding from lodging taxes.
Five meetings will be held between September and November to discuss how the funds will be distributed, and to review proposals.
More information can be found on the city’s website at www.ci.bainbridge-isl.wa.us.
