Sara Ann Thompson died Nov. 2.

She was born Feb. 19, 1962, to Jim and Darlene Thompson in Bemidji, Minn. where she attended Northern Elementary School. In 1977, she moved with her mother and siblings to Medford, Ore. She started high school in Medford and completed high school in a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. She graduated from the University of Oregon. She was successful in the fish industry in Seattle and Alaska. She bought a house on Bainbridge in the 1990s while working for Windermere in Seattle.

She is survived by her mother, Darlene Thompson (Ann Charles) of Kapaa, Hawaii; father and stepmother Jim and Dot Thompson of Bemidji; sister Beth (Mike) Pemberton of Kapaa, Kauai; brother Brian Thompson of Boise, Ida.; stepsisters Elizabeth (Marc) Paavola of Woodbury, Minn. and Jennifer Johanneson of Minneapolis, Minn.; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held in Seattle Nov. 20. Another memorial will be held at a later date in Bemidji.
