Olive ‘Hazel’ Dulay

Olive “Hazel” Dulay, formerly of Bainbridge Island, died May 24 in Saanichton, B.C.

She was born Jan. 18, 1924, on Valdez Island, B.C., and was a longtime resident and respected Elder of Tsawout First Nation.

She is survived by her children Sonny Dulay (Judy), Rena Dulay and Bernie Short (Ken); four grandchildren Gina Avery (Jaecen, Ed Dulay (Dawn), Rob Riley, and Monica Dulay Russo (Jason); and nine great grandchildren Jaecen and Josh Avery, Nathan, Evan and Alex Dulay, Sammy and Frankie Russo, and Jessica and Kelsey Pederson; godson Gene Narod (Cheryl) numerous relatives and friends throughout B.C. and the U.S.

Hazel will be remembered for her commitment to family, adventurous road trips and contagious smile.

Memorial Services were held May 27 at the Tsawout Community Centre in Saanichton, B.C.
