Clifton B. Steele
Clifton B. Steele died peacefully on March 28 at his home on Bainbridge Island. He was 88.
Clif was born on Jan. 30, 1922.
He attended Santa Ana High School, Class of ’39 and the University of Oregon ’43.
Along with his partner and dear friend Sasha Erlik, he founded and co-owned California Casuals in Los Angeles, Calif. He lived on Bainbridge for the last 20 years of his life.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie Hoffman Steele, sons Michael Steele of Ashland, Ore. and Kevin Steele (Sandie) of Newport Beach, Calif.; granddaughter Jamison Steele of New York City, N.Y. and grandson Nathan Steele of Boulder, Colo.
Family and friends are invited to share in a celebration of Clif’s life from 2-5 p.m. May 1 at his home. Memorial donations can be made to the Senior Center of Bainbridge Island, The Bainbridge Island Volunteer Fire Fighters Association or Hospice of Kitsap County.
