Robert Earle Vaughan, of Warner Robins, Ga., died Feb. 26.

Robert was born in Markham, Va., March 12, 1919. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the destroyer tender, USS Denebola in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. In 1942 he married Laurette Elizabeth Wender, in Portland, Maine. He retired from the Naval Reserves as a Master Chief Petty Officer. Bob was a kind and loving husband, father, teacher, and Renaissance man.

He was preceded in death by his parents Oliver Carter Vaughan and Eva Kirby.

His memory will be forever treasured by his wife of 67 years, Laurette Vaughan (WR, Georgia); son Robert E. Vaughan, Jr.; daughters Bonnie Miller, Wendy Wheeler (all, Tennessee), and Dina Vaughan of Bainbridge Island.
