Nancy Johnson
Published April 17, 2009
Nancy Greene Johnson, 57, of Bainbridge Island, died on April 17 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Born on March 10, 1952, she grew up in Mundelein, Ill., and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in elementary education.
She moved to Seattle and found her true calling in life, sales; she then met and married Casey Johnson of Mercer Island in 1982. They moved to Florida, where Nancy flourished in sales, and started a family.
They were residents of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla., for 14 years. Casey then sold the business and Nancy left her job to return to the Northwest, leaving many friends and colleagues in the Tampa Bay area.
They returned for the wonderful weather and beautiful views from their home on Bainbridge Island.
Once back, Nancy was off and running as a sales professional. She embraced and loved life and all of its adventures to the fullest. She had non-stop energy and was always positive and supportive of her family, friends and co-workers. She was also a positive influence with her children’s friends, who loved being around her and the trips and activities she planned, such as her cookie decorating parties.
She had the gift of words that inspired people to action. When she walked into a room, it was as if all the lights came on; her optimistic attitude was contagious.
Her adventurous spirit and fun-loving character touched all with whom she came into contact. She leaves an indelible memory of courage, goodwill and fun with everyone she met. And her Christmas brunches will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, Casey; daughter Kelsey; son Brendan; parents Bill and Shirley Green; and siblings Tim and Christy.
A remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. May 16 at her home, 9997 Point View Dr., Bainbridge Island.
