Egmedio Bucat

Egmedio “Eggy” Bucat, 63, of Bainbridge Island died July 3.

He was born Jan. 19, 1943, in Long Beach, Calif., to Egmedio C. Bucat and Lela Lopez Sidley of Bainbridge Island.

He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1961 and attended Olympic College in Bremerton.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1964-70, then was self-employed as a general contractor in Kitsap County for 35 years.

He married Susan E. Miller on Oct. 7, 1972, on Bainbridge Island. His life revolved around his family, children and grandchildren, and his church.

He was a member of Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the men’s roundtable. He was also a regional coordinator for the Royal Rangers.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul A Ganalon, and his father, Egmedio C. Bucat.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Bucat; mother Lela Sidley of Bainbridge Island; son Anthony Bucat and daughter Angie (Chris) Sharp of Bainbridge Island, and daughter Krista (Chris) Combs of Washougal; brother Paul (Marcia Rhodes) Ganalon, Jr., of Bainbridge Island; sisters Helen Ulloa of Bainbridge Island and Geralyn (Tim) Gibson of Seattle; and grandchildren Gabriel, Grace and Nicaia.

Services will be at 2 p.m. July 11 at Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo.

Arrangements are by Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
