Henry Julius Schwede

Henry Julius Schwede, 95, died Dec. 9 at the Wyatt House with his family and friends by his side.
He was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Willamette, Ore. His family later moved north to homestead in Saskatchewan, Canada.
He returned to the United States in 1937 and married Lucille Gernet in 1939.
He worked for Boeing Aircraft Co. in Seattle for 33 years as a master machinist. He was a member of two Masonic lodges.
Lucille died in 1973. He married Irene Maas in 1976 and moved to Bainbridge Island two years later. Irene died in 1997.
He is survived by his step-son, John (Frances) Elmore, of Anchorage, Alaska; step-daughter Mary K. Neuer of Bainbridge Island; his stepgrandsons John Elmore Jr., of Oregon, Stephen Carow of Olympia and Paul Carow of Seattle; granddaughter Denali of Anchorage, Alaska; and great-grandchildren Aaron, Kevin, Annaka, Callan and August.
Visitation was Dec. 14 at the Bainbridge Masonic Lodge on Grow Avenue followed by a funeral service. Graveside services were that day at Washington Memorial Park in Sea-Tac.
