Ruth B. French

Ruth B. French of Rolling Bay died Aug. 27 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. She was 90.

She was born June 4, 1915 in Augusta, Ark., to Eleridge and Elsie Bryant.

She worked as a school bus driver on Bainbridge Island for 15 years until retirement.

She was a resident of Bainbridge Island for 50 years.

She loved sports, especially the Seattle Mariners, and gardening. She also enjoyed supporting the Special Olympics.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warnie L. French, in 1960 and her son Robert L. French in 2004.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois Janette Perrett of Kent; sons Warnie L. (Mary) French of Republic, Wash., Daryl La Don (Rana) French of Bainbridge Island and Kenneth L. French of Kent; her sister, Jayne Runyan, of Elephant Butte, N.M.; her daughter-in-law, Claire French of Quilcene; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Private services with burial will be held in Kane Cemetery. A party in her remembrance will be held at noon Sept. 3, at her home. Memorials may be made to the Bainbridge Island Fire Department or the Bainbridge Island Little League Club.
