Clifford Thomas Morgan, 65, died June 28 at his Port Ludlow home.
He was born June 2, 1940, in Seattle to Alonzo A. Morgan and Bessie (County) Morgan.
He graduated from Peninsula High School in 1960.
He never married, though he was engaged to “a lovely girl” in his early 20s; she was killed by a drunk driver, and family members said he never got over the loss.
He was in the Army for three years stationed mostly in Texas after completing basic training.
He worked for many years as a pipe fitter in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and then became an architectural computer tech with them in later years.
Morgan took early retirement from PSNS in 1994.
He attended Bible College in the evening for several years in Tacoma until he earned a degree in theological studies, and was also actively interested in genealogy studies.
He was a longtime resident of Port Orchard, moving to the Port Ludlow/Shine area in recent years.
He was an active member of Kitsap Computing Seniors, where he held different positions and served as president for several years. He also taught classes with them.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and older brother, Richard Morgan, of Allyn.
He is survived by his three sisters — Evelyn Tiede of Lancaster, Calif., Louise Cole of Bainbridge Island and Judi Johnson of Bellingham, several nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was an active member of Bainbridge Island First Baptist Church and counted Senior Pastor Dan Wymer as a close friend for 20 years. That church will host memorial services at 1 p.m. July 9.
