Vera M. Larson

Former longtime Bainbridge Island resident Vera M. Larson, age 94, died May 17 at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born March 1, 1911, at Port Blakely to Frank and Caroline Nelson, and graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1931.
She worked as a nanny in Seattle before marrying Harold W. Larson on Dec. 23, 1939.
Returning to the island, she and Harold settled in Port Madison where she was a homemaker and remained until failing health forced her to move to assisted living in 2000.
She was a member of the Orthopedic Guild, played piano, participated in the church choir at Bethany Lutheran and enjoyed weekly lunches with the Thursday Girls. She cared for family and friends in their declining years.
Sons, Bruce Larson, Bremerton, and Ronald Larson, Lake Quinault; grandson, Carlee, Lake Quinault; and great-grandson, Trenton, Lake Quinault, survive her.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at Seabold Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home.
