Frances L. Mitchell

Frances Lee Mitchell of Hansville died Dec. 11 in Hansville. She was 98.
She was born to Frank and Amelia G. (Lee) Davison in Seattle on May 27, 1906.
She married Gerald E. Mitchell on Aug. 1, 1930 in Seattle.
She was an active homemaker and accompanied her husband on his many assignments around the world, including Australia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Alaska and many regions of the U.S.
She moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 1979, then made her home with her daughter “Bunny” on Bainbridge Island and then in Hansville.
She was an inveterate reader who enjoyed books and was continually learning about the countries and cultures she lived in. She also enjoyed the New York Times crossword puzzle.
She is survived by her son Gerald Mitchell of Edmonds; daughter Bernadine (Edward) Cottingham-Kleckner; daughter-in-law Catherine Gradi of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren; and one-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald E. Mitchell and sister Barbara Ann Cox.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stone Chapel, Poulsbo. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
